As we head into the final few months of 2026, it’s hard to believe how quickly the year has gone. It’s been another busy and rewarding year here at Weiss Technik UK, with plenty happening across the business. From getting out on the road and meeting customers and industry contacts, to bringing the team together and celebrating some important milestones, there’s been lots to look back on. With just a couple of months of the year left, I wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on some of the highlights and look ahead to how we’ll round off 2026.
A Busy Year on the Shows Circuit
Early summer saw the team join the shows circuit, with a busy few months of events getting underway. We kicked things off at the Farnborough International Airshow alongside MAA, followed by Battery Cells & Systems Expo with our friends at Schunk Sonosystems. The autumn season has already brought another raft of events, including the CEUG International Meeting 2026, Faraday Institution Conference and DVD 2026.
It’s been great to get out on the road, meet customers and industry contacts face-to-face, and share the latest environmental simulation technology from Weiss Technik UK. These events give us a valuable opportunity to demonstrate how our testing solutions can support a wide range of industries, from defence and aerospace through to pharmaceuticals and life sciences.
The team now have a short break before we head over to Ireland for the Lab & Cleanroom Conference & Exhibition in Dublin. As one of Ireland’s key events for the laboratory and cleanroom sector, the show provides a great opportunity to connect with a broad range of professionals, including laboratory specialists, cleanroom operators, scientists, engineers and suppliers from across Ireland and beyond. Our Business Development Manager in Ireland, Nigel Kilduff, is looking forward to attending and speaking with delegates about the challenges they face.
Last on the roster of shows for this year is the Make UK Defence Summit, taking place on 18–19 November at the British Motor Museum in Warwick. With more than 500 attendees expected, the event will bring together businesses and professionals from across the UK defence manufacturing supply chain. It’s another valuable opportunity for us to connect with the industry, learn more about the latest developments and challenges facing the sector, and showcase how our environmental testing solutions can help support the development and manufacture of reliable, high-performance products. If you missed us at Defence DVD, make sure to come and find us on stand xxx.
It’s certainly been a busy year on the events circuit, and we’re looking forward to making the most of these final opportunities to connect with our customers, partners and the wider industry before we round off 2026.
Turning Strategy into Success at Our Company Day
Coming up on 9 October is our Company Day, centred around the theme of “Turning Strategy into Success”. It’s a great opportunity for us all to take a step back from the day-to-day, come together as a team and look at where we’re heading as a business, and, importantly, how we can turn our plans and ambitions into action.
We’ll be spending some time looking at our strategy and what this means for each of us, alongside plenty of opportunities to share ideas and get involved. We’ll also be taking part in some team-building activities, because working well together is such an important part of achieving our goals. We have a great team here at Weiss Technik UK, and days like this give us the chance to strengthen those relationships, have a bit of fun and remind ourselves of what we can achieve when we work towards the same goal.
As Make UK members, we’re also lucky enough to be using one of their fantastic venues for the day. I’m really looking forward to bringing everyone together, having some good conversations and hopefully coming away with plenty of ideas and enthusiasm for the year ahead.
Celebrating Team Milestones
The past few months have also seen a few members of the team reach some significant milestones, from big birthdays to impressive work anniversaries.
Having first joined Weiss Technik UK as an apprentice, our Service Manager, Richard Fleming, recently celebrated an incredible 26 years with the business. It’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to Richard’s commitment, expertise and dedication over the years. To have progressed from an apprentice to leading our Service team is something to be proud of, and both myself and the wider team are incredibly grateful for everything Richard continues to bring to his role. His knowledge and experience play a key part in ensuring we deliver the high standard of service our customers expect, and in maintaining our reputation as one of the leading environmental simulation service teams in the country.
We also celebrated a very special birthday with Business Development Manager, Stephen Chisman, who reached the milestone of 60. Whilst it was certainly a birthday worth celebrating, it also marked the beginning of a new chapter, with Stephen making the decision to hang up his hat and retire from Weiss Technik UK.
After eight years with the business, Stephen leaves behind a lasting contribution to the team and our customers. We’ll certainly be sorry to see him go, but we’re delighted to have had the opportunity to celebrate this milestone with him and to thank him for all his hard work, commitment and contribution during his time with us. On behalf of everyone at Weiss Technik UK, I’d like to wish Stephen all the very best for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
Rounding Off 2026
And just like that, we’re heading towards the end of another year. It really doesn’t feel five minutes since we were welcoming in 2026, and now there are only a couple of months left! It’s been a great year for Weiss Technik UK, and I’d like to thank everyone across the team for the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm you’ve brought throughout the year.
There’s still plenty to look forward to before we close the doors on 2026, and we’ll be working hard to finish the year on a high so we can celebrate everything we’ve achieved at our Christmas dinner in December, giving us the perfect opportunity to get together, enjoy some good food and have a well-deserved catch-up away from the day-to-day.
Thank you again to everyone who has contributed to what has been a fantastic year. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I’m looking forward to seeing us finish 2026 on a high and heading into the New Year with plenty of excitement for what’s to come.
