Building on a Year of Growth - A Message from our MD as We Enter Q2

Brett Green shares an update on what's in store for Weiss Technik UK this quarter

We have hit the ground running this year, from welcoming new team members and further expanding our presence in Ireland, to travelling across the country for shows and events and embarking on a number of fundraising activities in support of our friends at Rainbows Hospice. There is no sign of things slowing down as we enter Q2 2026, with a busy schedule of events ahead, including hosting our next Open Day.

As we continue to strengthen our presence in Ireland, I am pleased to welcome Nigel Kilduff as our dedicated Business Development Manager. Nigel brings more than 20 years of experience across multiple disciplines, both within the pharmaceutical sector and the wider manufacturing landscape in the country. His appointment represents an important step in our regional growth strategy – building our Weiss Technik Team locally.  With Nigel leading our business development activity on the ground, and Conor O’Regan supporting our customers with local Service and Maintenance, we are well positioned to build stronger relationships, identify new opportunities and deliver tailored solutions that support the needs and requirements of our customers in all 32 counties.

I am also delighted to welcome Martin Durose to our Service Team as a Field Service Engineer based in the West Midlands. “Service Excellence” remains a cornerstone of our business, and continued investment in this area is essential to maintaining the high standards our customers expect. We boast a Service department 27 colleagues strong, with a team of 18 dedicated field service engineers.  We have built a robust support network capable of delivering responsive, expert assistance across the UK. Martin’s regional presence further strengthens this capability, enabling faster response times and more proactive, hands-on support. This not only helps our customers minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency, but also reinforces the long-term partnerships we are committed to building through reliable, high-quality service delivery.

This commitment to service excellence is reflected not only in the strength of our team, but also in the individuals who continue to go above and beyond for our customers. I am proud to share that, at our annual Global Sales & Service Conference 2026, Richard Fleming was recognised with a Quality Award for his outstanding contribution to the Weiss Technik UK Service Department. Marking 25 years with the business, Richard has played a pivotal role in driving the growth and development of both the department and the wider service function. His dedication, customer-focussed mindset and consistent willingness to go the extra mile have had a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike. This recognition is a testament to the standards we set as a business and the people who uphold them every day.

Our events calendar is also well underway and will see us active across the country through to November. We began at the MAA (Midlands Aerospace Alliance) Conference, held at Rolls‑Royce Derby, where we engaged directly with professionals across the aerospace and defence sectors. These conversations provided valuable insight into the evolving challenges facing the industry, particularly around reliability, compliance and the increasing demand for robust testing under real‑world conditions.

These insights are already shaping our plans for our upcoming Open Day in June, with a focus on Weiss Technik solutions for the defence sector. This event will provide a platform for customers and industry partners to explore the benefits of environmental testing within defence applications, particularly in relation to safety and performance across critical systems. We will focus on how our environmental test chambers support the validation of components and systems operating in extreme and variable conditions, including temperature, humidity, vibration and altitude.

Reflecting on our performance, I am really pleased with our ongoing progress - a clear indicator that our strategy is delivering results. Through a combination of targeted investments, operational discipline and a continued focus on customer needs, we have strengthened both our financial position and our market standing.

This growth has not happened by chance. It is the result of consistent effort across all areas of the business, from expanding into new markets and territories, to enhancing our service capability and maintaining the high standards our customers expect. We are in a strong position to continue investing in the business - whether through innovation, people or infrastructure - ensuring we build on this momentum in the months and years ahead.

Finally, I would like to thank our team for their continued hard work, professionalism and commitment. Their dedication underpins everything we achieve as a business. As we continue to expand and develop, their expertise and drive ensures that we not only meet expectations but consistently exceed them.

With a strong start to the year behind us and clear momentum across the business, I look forward with confidence to what the rest of 2026 will bring.
