"Without women, nothing works at all for us in Csesztreg."

Schunk Hungary thanks all female employees with a gesture.

Simply to say thank you: On International Women's Day, female employees in Csesztreg receive a floral greeting from their superiors and colleagues as a gesture.

March 8 is International Women's Day and an occasion worldwide to focus on the issue of equality for women. At Schunk Carbon Technology Hungary, it is also traditionally the day when the commitment of female employees is honored with a small gesture: All women receive a small potted plant from their managers, and colleagues often also give them a floral greeting or sweets.

"At our Csesztreg site, the proportion of women in the workforce is very high. Almost half of the employees are women," says Managing Director Werner Gaigg. "We are an assembly plant, and especially in the departments where dexterity and skill are important, we have a particularly large number of women working there." This applies above all to the assembly of products for the automotive industry, such as assemblies used in electric car engines. But many women also take on testing and measuring work in the rail sector, for example.

"The majority of female employees additionally take care of the children at home as well as the household." In the rural area around Csesztreg, many families also have a small farm, which is often tended by the women, Gaigg said. "To get that together with a two-shift operation - kudos!" says Gaigg. "Without women, nothing works for us in Cseztreg. And that's why we take International Women's Day as an opportunity to say thank you for that and express our appreciation for it as a company."
